Affordable Housing

When urban development in Boston's South End displaced many people and families, Inquilinos Boricuas en Accian (IBA) developed a 435 unit affordable housing community and it became and still is an example in the areas of civil rights, social organization, affordable housing and arts. About Inquilinos Boricuas en Accian is a non-profit organization and a dynamic community development corporation that started in the South End neighborhood of Boston, to address displacement of low-income families due to urban development. IBA offers affordable housing and supportive programming to improve the knowledge, life skills and health of participants of all ages. One of the most important goals of IBA is proving safe and sustainable affordable housing. For more than four decades, IBA has developed housing that is associated and financed by different supportive programs, while developing leaders who support and encourage themselves, their families and their neighbors. Who we serve Through education, basic needs services and financial empowerment programming we serve 818 low-income people in the following age groups: 370 children from 3 to 8 years old; 104 youth from 13 to 19 years old; 165 adults from 25 to 64 years old; 179 elderly 65 years old and older
