Candace Kelley serves as a host of Comcast Newsmakers in Florida, Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey. A five-time, Emmy®-nominated, multimedia journalist, lawyer and anchor, Kelley has been with the Comcast family for close to 20 years.
Kelley has worked as a reporter and producer for a number of media outlets including NY1News, UPN 9, BET Nightly News, PBS and The Huffington Post. She has appeared as a commentator on various media outlets including Court TV, Extra, BET Nightly News and WCBS discussing headlining legal topics.
As a national correspondent for BET, she gave gavel-to-gavel legal coverage for the Sean “Puffy” Combs weapon possession and bribery trial. For close to ten years, she served as a legal reporter for LAWCAST Inc., assisting attorneys with substantive developments in their practice. While there, she reported on topics including intellectual property, computer and internet, and employment and labor law.
Kelley is a certified divorce mediator and served on New Jersey's Department of Law and Public Safety's Domestic Violence Response Team, a 24-hour program created to assist victims of domestic abuse.
A professor at Rowan University, Kelley teaches Media Law and a series of television courses. She earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, her M.S. from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, and her B.A. from Howard University.
