Sheila Hyland

HOST, National and Greater Pittsburgh

Sheila Hyland serves as a host of the national and Greater Pittsburgh editions of Comcast Newsmakers. She has more than 20 years of on-air experience working as a reporter, anchor and managing editor for major network affiliates including ABC, CBS and FOX.

Hyland spent nearly two decades working for Pittsburgh’s WTAE-TV and WPGH-TV. She specializes in crisis communications and media consulting, as well as broadcast hosting, writing and production. She has interviewed notable figures from former presidents and Nobel Peace Prize winners, to numerous state and local politicians.

Hyland also works for Luminari, a youth-serving nonprofit that aims to broaden minds and promote community engagement. She also serves as an emcee and volunteers her time with several nonprofit organizations.

Hyland earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Nebraska. Sheila has two grown children and lives in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.
