Paul Lisnek

Paul Lisnek serves as a host of the national and Chicago editions of Comcast Newsmakers. The recipient of numerous Emmy®, Telly, Communicator, and Cablefax awards for his television work, Lisnek also hosts “Broadway in Chicago Backstage” for the Comcast Network. He is the political analyst for WGN-TV in Chicago and anchors “WGN-TV Political Report.”

Lisnek also hosts the podcast “Paul Lisnek Behind the Curtain,” heard on WGN Plus and is a fill-in host for WGN-AM. He also appears as a legal and political expert on WGN Radio, WLS-AM, WVON-AM and “Beyond the Beltway,” where he is also a fill-in anchor.

Throughout his career, Lisnek has interviewed more than 1,000 guests, including presidents, politicians and celebrities ranging from Betty White and Elton John, to David Schwimmer and Sting. In 2015, the Museum of Broadcast Communications in Chicago opened the Paul M. Lisnek Gallery, featuring a permanent exhibit honoring Lisnek’s career in journalism and the media.

Lisnek has also served as an on-air expert on law, trials and ethics for NBC News, CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” MTV and other networks.

Lisnek is passionate about his love for pets and animals and is a frequent emcee for charity events around Chicago that assist animal shelters and healthcare organizations. He and his dogs were featured in a book called “The Pet Project,” featuring Chicago-area celebrities and their pets, with the proceeds being used to shutter puppy mills.

The author of 14 books including “Quality Mind, Quality Life,” “The Hidden Jury,” and “Winning the Mind Game,” Lisnek’s latest book is a political legal murder mystery called “Assume Guilt,” his first work of fiction.

Lisnek holds a Ph.D. and law degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana, and has held teaching positions at the University of Illinois, the Loyola School of Law, DePaul University, and Pepperdine School of Law’s Institute for Dispute Resolution in Malibu.
