American Heroes: Japanese American Soldiers in WWII

Following the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, Executive Order 9066 was issued, resulting in nearly 120,000 people of Japanese descent being forcibly removed from their homes and sent to live in war relocation centers. Despite widespread discrimination facing this community, more than 33,000 Japanese Americans volunteered to serve in the U.S. military during World War II.
