Their mission is to address the structural causes of economic and human underdevelopment, reduce the digital divide and promote cultural resilience through the advancement of informational access, the promotion of innovative educational programs and the creation of and support for libraries and librarians. They focus on serving the individuals and families who face the greatest barriers to accessing educational and cultural resources, including people living below the poverty line and people who have recently arrived in the United States.
