Informed Citizens

The LWVGR is the local chapter of LWVUS and LWVIL. We are a non partisan organization. We will never endorse candidates or political parties. We study issues pertinent to the running of an effective efficient government. After complete study, we arrive at policy positions. We then educate the public on our positions. As our name suggests, our primary focus is to make sure all citizens exercise their right to vote. We believe an informed citizen is necessary to our Democracy. To that end, we study issues and arrive at our positions. We are hosting a Presentation on the need for a Complete Count of the 2020 Census on September 17, 2019 at Second/First Church. Our panelists include representatives from the City of Rockford, Rockford Public Schools, United Way and Rockford Public Library, Coalition of Latino Leaders and NAACP.
