Frida Kahlo Fest

The McAninch Arts Center and Cleve Carney Gallery are hosting the largest exhibition of 26 original Frida Kahlo works on loan from the Delores Olmedo Museum in Mexico, in the summer of 2020. In honor of this, there will be a year-long transformation of the Arts center and celebration featuring entertainment, and cultural programming leading up to the opening of the exhibition. Frida Fest kicks off the celebration on September 8th with a FREE outdoor festival featuring live entertainment, a community art mural, cooking demonstrations, food vendors and a Mexican artisan market. The coming year will feature lectures, children's programming, films, Ballet Folklorico de Mexico, and a gala featuring Rick Bayless. The exhibition will feature a historic timeline, Photo display, children's area designed by illustrator author Mike Venezia, and Poetry Garden designed by Ball Seed.
