Changing Crime Trend in Rockford

Rockford has been in the top ten most dangerous cities for many years. Rockford's police department has turned to technology to increase efficiencies while building trust with the community members most effected by the violent crime. Additionally, thirty percent of the violent crime is domestic violence related. Rockford police have partnered with universities and other private partners to approach domestic violence holistically in effort to stop the cycle of violence. To date, violent crime is down 15% in Rockford illustrating early successes.
