Emily Saunders Plummer

Host Yolanda Vazquez talks with Dr. Leigh Ryan about Emily Saunders Plummer, a recent inductee of the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame. Plummer was born into slavery in 1815 and married Adam Francis Plummer in 1841. Through the diary of her husband and later accounts from one of her daughters we learn about Emily’s feistiness and courageousness in the face of adversity.
