Family First

Rep. Elizabeth Weight

The United States does not offer a national paid family leave policy, compared to other counties per the Family and Medial Leave Act (FMLA). FMLA allows for 12 weeks of un-paid leave after the birth, adoption or personal health issues to return to work. Rep. Elizabeth Weight discuses family leave amendments. House Bill 156 would provide 6 weeks of pay for state workers for the birth or adoption of a child.
