There are approximately 22 million military veterans living in the United States. Almost 650,000?live in Michigan. Military Service is unlike any other human experience.
Buddy-to-Buddy is a peer-to-peer outreach program that trains veterans to provide peer support and linkage to needed resources for Michigan service members and veterans. Buddy-to-Buddy is one of the M-SPAN suite of military mental health programs at the University of Michigan. M-SPAN programs are part of the Welcome Back Veterans initiative, a collaboration between Major League Baseball and the McCormick Foundation. Welcome Back Veterans is committed to creating a national network of university-based medical Centers of Excellence to address the mental health needs of our veterans and their families.
