Girls In Aviation Day Houston

Janine K. Iannarelli, Founder & President, Par Avion Ltd. Volunteer for Girls In Aviation Day Houston

Girls In Aviation Day presents a great opportunity for those who are interested in aviation and aerospace to visit Space Center Houston, airport or flight museum, or to study about famous aviators such as Amelia Earhart and Anne Morrow Lindberg (wife of Charles Lindberg who was herself an accomplished aviator) and astronauts such as Sally Ride (the first female astronaut) or Mae Jemison (the first African American Astronaut). The Houston event is geared to 100 girls ages 10 to 17. Girls will have the opportunity to meet and speak with licensed female pilots; learn about air traffic control, see how an aircraft engine works, learn about aerodynamics and much more. The event will be held at the Lone Star Flight Museum at Ellington Airport. Registration and lunch are complimentary; however, those who are interested are asked to register via the website www.girlsinaviationhouston.com.
