Sheila Hyland

Sheila Hyland has more than 20 years of on-air television experience working as a reporter, anchor and managing editor for major network affiliates including ABC, CBS and FOX. Hyland currently serves as Comcast Newsmakers host for Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania.

Hyland spent nearly two decades working for Pittsburgh’s WTAE-TV and WPGH-TV. She specializes in crisis communications and media consulting, as well as broadcast hosting, writing and production. She has interviewed notable figures from former presidents and Nobel Peace Prize winners, to numerous state and local politicians.

Hyland serves as a media advisor for “Picture This,” a project promoting mental health in southwestern Pennsylvania, and serves as an advisor for “Team Up,” a national initiative of the Entertainment Industries Council to promote more accurate media coverage of mental health issues.

Hyland earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Nebraska. She and her husband, Rob, have two children and reside in Pittsburgh.
