Jill Horner

Jill Horner has worked as a television reporter, host, voiceover artist and producer for more than a decade. She is an award-winning journalist whose work has appeared on CNN. She has worked for News 12 New Jersey; WTXF-TV; WPSJ-TV; and The Comcast Network in Philadelphia, Boston, and Washington, D.C. Horner currently hosts Comcast Newsmakers in greater Philadelphia, New Jersey and Delaware.

Horner’s background is on the stage, and as a vocalist, she performed nationally and internationally with Marie Osmond in "The Sound of Music." Additionally, Horner performed for United States and United Nations troops on military bases in Bosnia, Macedonia, Hungary and Kosovo. For her ongoing work with veterans’ organizations, she was awarded the New Jersey Civilian Meritorious Service Medal by the Adjutant General of New Jersey. Horner also received the Alice Paul Equality Award, given to those who work to advance women’s equality.

As a former Miss America contestant, Horner was a top-10 finalist in the program and received a Quality of Life Award for her environmental education outreach program based on her experience as an exchange student in Siberia. She received funding through the New Jersey Department of Environmental Education to bring her program to children across the state.

Horner received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and American studies from Rutgers University. She also earned a Master of Arts degree in history from Rutgers University. Horner graduated with honors from her master’s program and received departmental distinction for her graduate research about the political identity of women and the role of newspapers in the early American republic.

Horner lives with her husband, two small boys and two big dogs.
