Elena Russo

Elena Russo serves as a host of Comcast Newsmakers in Maryland and the Washington, D.C., metro area. Russo’s experience in the entertainment and education industry spans over fifteen years. Working both sides of the camera, Russo has represented professional sports teams, national consumer brands, government agencies and European designers. Behind the camera, her production experience includes ESPN, “America’s Most Wanted,” “Monday Night Football” and various network affiliates.

Russo began her broadcast television career with Major League Baseball, hosting and co-producing “Orioles Magazine,” a weekly television show for Comcast SportsNet. Later, she hosted and co-produced “The Golf Road Show,” used to teach the sport while promoting golf courses throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

Beyond her work in the entertainment industry, which has earned her three Telly Awards and a National Capital Region Emmy^®, Russo has an extensive background in the international fashion industry and served as a spokesperson for law enforcement, national skin care companies and other consumer brands.

Russo holds a Master of Arts in media communications and continues to teach broadcast performance and public speaking at the college level.
