But, not until a 2017 rebranding initiative had the village embraced its diversity and inclusive attitude as an identifiable Flossmoor attribute. So, during its 2017 strategic planning, the Village of Flossmoor coined the tagline “Welcoming. Beautiful. Connected” and revealed a fresh identity that celebrates all things diverse and accepting about the community. Through current initiatives, Flossmoor is making itself known as a must-visit destination and residential hot-spot in the southern Chicago suburbs. Those efforts also recently earned the community national recognition as a 2018 recipient of the Community Diversity & Inclusion Program Excellence Award from the International City Manager’s Association, an honor bestowed to only three of the ICMA’s 11,000 member communities.
