Opportunity to Higher Education
- 13:43David Costello, Rock Valley College
There are over 40,000 residents in the Rock Valley College district who do not have a high school diploma. Furthermore, in the Rockford region, over 43% of jobs (and 36% of additional job openings in the next 10 years) are classified as "middle skills" jobs, meaning they require more than a high school education, but less than a four-year degree. David Costello, RVC's Executive Director of Communications & Marketing, talks about the role RVC plays as this community's college in providing access and opportunity for higher education, and the training needed to fill these high priority occupations.
