The West Michigan Policy Forum’s role is to provide the leadership, education and voice of Michigan business to guide the administration and legislature in reinventing Michigan. The West Michigan Policy Forum (WMPF) is governed byfourofficers of the Executive Committee. The WMPF also has a Board of Directors which is a group of business and community leaders throughout the state who support our mission and contribute to the reinventing of Michigan.

Impacts of Toxic Stress and Learning in the Classroom
Center on the Developing Child of Harvard University reports that toxic stress response can occur when a child experiences strong, frequent, and/or prolonged adversity such as physical or emotional abuse, chronic neglect, caregiver substance abuse or mental illness, exposure to violence, and/or the accumulated burdens of family economic hardship without adequate adult support. Becky Carlton, Director of Strategy and Partnership for Michigan's Charter School Association, joins host Laurel Hess for a discussion on how toxic stress impacts learning in the classroom.
