According to theRAND Center for Military Health Policy Research 20% of the vets who served in either Iraq or Afghanistan suffer from either major depression or post-traumatic stress disorder. The VA health care system has grown from 54 hospitals in 1930 to 1,600 health care facilities today, including 144 VA Medical Centers and 1,232 outpatient sites of care of varying complexity.

According to the Anti-Defamation League, the number of anti-Semitic incidents across the United States, including assaults, vandalism and attacks on Jewish institutions climbed some 67 percent from January to September of 2017, compared to the same period a year earlier.
