The Immunization Partnership helps individuals, physicians and others to make smart choices about protecting their communities from vaccine-preventable diseases. Every year, roughly 3 million people die from vaccine-preventable diseases worldwide, and countless more suffer life-long disabilities. TIP endeavors to prevent what's preventable. All across Texas, TIP conducts community and provider forums to educate the public on the latest in vaccine-related science and policy, advocates for evidence-based legislation, and builds the capacity of community-based immunization coalitions.

Comcast NBCU Elevates Houston Community with Mayor's History Makers Awards
In celebration of Black History Month, Comcast recently announced a partnership with City of Houston Mayor, Sylvester Turner, to honor 10 Houston community volunteers at the first-ever Mayor’s History Makers Awards held on February 9, 2018. Held at the Houstonian Hotel, the honorees were recognized for their commitment to making a difference in the community through volunteerism, mentorship, advocacy and civic engagement.
The volunteers were commended as exceptional individuals having demonstrated selfless commitment in their communities. They played a vital role in positive change and continue to help celebrate diversity in the city of Houston. As part of the recognition, each honoree will be featured in a 30-second Public Service Announcement that will air on Comcast cable. In addition, Comcast NBCUniversal will also donate $1,000 to the nonprofit organization of the honoree’s choice.
