The County Board succeeded in passing a balanced budget on Nov. 21. In order to compensate for a loss of more than $200 million in revenue, the budget contains more than 300 layoffs and elimination of 1,000-plus vacancies. Operationally, the County continues its emphasis on criminal justice reform and its defense of the Affordable Care Act. Finally, the President has filed for re-election in the Democratic primary next March.
