Arguably the most important service government provides is a public education. Unfortunately, disparities exist throughout communities based on income, race or region. Necessary changes often come to fruition through legislative measures. In recent years, flawed teacher assessments, disparities in expulsions and funding inequities have been resolved through laws passed in Springfield. Assistant Majority Leader Kimberly A. Lightford, State Senator for the 4th District discusses much-needed changes in education policy.

Comcast Cares Day 2018 - Little Fort Elementary School

Little For Elementary School in Waukegan, IL partnered with Comcast for the 17th annual Comcast Cares Day. Volunteers gave the school some much needed TLC. They refreshed the classroom by refurbishing shelving units and painting. They also cleaned up grounds and planted flowers.
