Bayou City Art Festival

Established in 1972, the Art Colony Association, Inc. ("ACA") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to producing high quality art festivals and events to provide financial support to local nonprofit organizations. Over the past 45 years, the Art Colony Association, producer of The Bayou City Art Festival Downtown in the fall and Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park in the spring, has raised 3.5 million dollars in support local nonprofit organizations. The Festivals are funded in part by grants from the City of Houston and through Houston Arts Alliance.

Comcast NBCU Elevates Houston Community with Mayor's History Makers Awards
In celebration of Black History Month, Comcast recently announced a partnership with City of Houston Mayor, Sylvester Turner, to honor 10 Houston community volunteers at the first-ever Mayor’s History Makers Awards held on February 9, 2018. Held at the Houstonian Hotel, the honorees were recognized for their commitment to making a difference in the community through volunteerism, mentorship, advocacy and civic engagement.
The volunteers were commended as exceptional individuals having demonstrated selfless commitment in their communities. They played a vital role in positive change and continue to help celebrate diversity in the city of Houston. As part of the recognition, each honoree will be featured in a 30-second Public Service Announcement that will air on Comcast cable. In addition, Comcast NBCUniversal will also donate $1,000 to the nonprofit organization of the honoree’s choice.
