Posted Dec 08, 2016
The Adopt an Angel program brings together the Houston legal community to support children of all ages - from newborn to teens - by providing gifts and necessities during the holiday season. The program provides a number of different presents, school uniforms, and, if needed, necessities The Adopt an Angel committee contacts schools and charities to secure the students' wish lists in late summer/early fall. Houston Young Lawyers Foundation and Houston Young Lawyers Association volunteers assemble the thousands of wish lists into packets that are delivered to participating law firms and corporate legal departments for distribution to those who are contributing gifts. Then the gift buyers wrap the gifts and then drop them off at locations around the city, where HYLF and HYLA volunteers fill trucks destined for the designated schools and charities. On the delivery day, a team of volunteers-some dressed as elves and a Santa Claus-deliver the gifts and hand them out to the children. Law firms can also adopt entire classes to provide school supplies, sports and exercise equipment, and uniforms. Comcast viewers are welcome to donate funds to the program and 100 percent of the funds will go to these schools and charities involved in the Adopt an Angel Program. For More Info, please visit:
