Hunger is a real health issue for children. If they don't get the nutrients they need while they're growing, their potential to thrive can be affected.
The need for food assistance is at its highest in summertime, when kids are out of school.
The Houston Food Bank provides after-school meals to children at sites throughout the greater Houston area during the summer - and the school year as well.
The Food Bank just opened a brand new, bigger kitchen so we can feed more children year-round.
