Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder, Be A Champion, Inc
This 16-year-old Houston-based nonprofit organization has served more that 2 million of Houston's at-risk children through numerous educational and nutritional programs since its inception.
16 years ago, Be A Champion Inc was a vision of CEO Jaron Barganier, who drew his original dream on a dinner napkin.
As a football player for UH, Barganier enlisted the help of his friend and fellow football player, James Hong who co-Founded the agency.
Today, BAC provides a variety of during-school, after-school, tutorial and extended-day programs in the service of education to at-risk youth.
BAC also offers its Champion Fuel Program (FREE healthy suppers) to 10,000 income-qualified children each day in Houston and 5,000 more across Texas.
BAC's "Little Coogs" program is a partnership with the UH. The program organizes events for youth providing exposure to a college campus and game day experience. Often, this is the first exposure kids get to college. Each game's tailgating party serves 1,500 kids.
All the programs offered by BAC are designed to provide our young people with a path to a brighter future.
