CHILDREN AT RISK serves as a catalyst for change to improve the quality of life for children through strategic research, public policy analysis, education, collaboration and advocacy. Through its research and advocacy programs, CHILDREN AT RISK is a well-known leader in understanding the health, safety and economic indicators impacting children, and educating public policy makers about their importance in improving the lives of children.
The mission of Kids Meals is to end childhood hunger by delivering free healthy meals to the doorsteps of Houston’s hungriest preschool-aged children and through collaboration provide their families with resources to help end the cycle of poverty. Kids’ Meals is a first-responder to children ages five-years old and under facing debilitating hunger due to extreme poverty. Every weekday, year-round, from 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers prepare thousands of healthy lunches consisting of a sandwich, nutritious snack and 100% juice or milk. They have six vans that deliver meals M-F to children enrolled in our program.

Breast Cancer is 98% curable when detected early, but women without health insurance are less likely to get life-saving screenings. The Rose has become the leading nonprofit breast health organization in the state, serving over 40,000 women each year.
The Rose uses advanced digital technology to screen women for breast cancer through two diagnostic centers and a fleet of Mobile Mammography Vans.
