Now in its 27th season, TMF is a cool and classical music festival that prepares college aged and young professional musicians for careers in music through a 4-week intensive summer orchestral training program with an international faculty of performers, conductors and soloists in the same vein as the Aspen and Tanglewood Music Festivals. We have a full Orchestra repertoire each Saturday evening from June 11-July 2. This year marks the TMF debut June 18 of distinguished Austrian conductor Hans Graf, well-known to Houston audiences for his distinguished career with the Houston Symphony. For those new to classical music, our June 24 & 25 concert will be The Audience's Guide to the Orchestra, a primer for classical music lovers of all ages. For our full program schedule, go to www.tmf.uh.edu. Nearly 400 students from the top music conservatories and music schools of the world apply to TMF and 95 are accepted. TMF is Houston's largest classical music presenter in June with nearly 30 performances, many free or at nominal cost. Most concerts are indoors on the UH campus and parking is FREE.
