According to the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies, to date there are 123 AAPI candidates running for state or federal office in 2016. While the numbers of candidates are on the rise, efforts are under way to broaden the pipeline of AAPI elected officials and increase voter participation, as well. A conversation with S. Floyd Mori, President and C.E.O. of the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies. Mori stated, "Today there are over 120 running for office.
