According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are an estimated 2.6 million black-owned businesses in the U.S. Roughly 10 percent, or 260-thousand, are construction firms. Harry C. Alford, President and CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce discusses efforts to grow these businesses.
