The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show runs from March 22 through April 3 and is followed by another horse show called Spring Gathering. Both horse shows are held at The Great Southwest Equestrian Center, 2501 South Mason Road, Suite 410, Katy, Texas 77450 Pin Oak is one of the oldest and most prestigious charity horse shows in the nation. Beneficiaries are Texas Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at Texas Children's Hospital, and Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Family Alliance. Spectators will be treated to Olympic caliber jumping at Great Southwest Equestrian Center at Grand Prix events. Families from the greater Houston area are invited to come out after school on weekdays and on Saturdays and Sundays to see equestrian events, visit vendor booths, and sample food and beverages from food trucks. Most events are free and open to the public. Pin Oak members, volunteers, sponsors and competitors are invited to participate. ' The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show has raised approximately $7 million for children's charities since the show's inception in 1945. ' Funds raised from the first horse show served as seed money for what is now Texas Children's Hospital.
