Alief Proud Day is a community-wide event that will feature student performances from all grade levels, food trucks, booths from each campus and fun for all. A 5 or 10-mile bike rally will kick the event off at 8 a.m. and the Festival begins at 9 a.m. We will also try to break the world record for most people doing jumping jacks simultaneously at the same location. According to Guinness, the current world record is 250. If we have time, we would also like to preview the Read Across the Globe event on October 19. This in partnership with the Points of Light Foundation Also, Stuff A Bus event set for December 11 at Crump Stadium parking lot. Alief ISD is a diverse school district on the southwest side of Houston. More than 47,000 students that speak 82 languages attend 45 campuses in the district. More than 82 percent of Alief students are on free or reduced lunch. Alief ISD earned an Exemplary rating in the district's release of Community and Student Engagement Ratings under the State's Accountability System.
