The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cures for Crohn's Disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improving the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. It was founded in 1967 by Irwin M. and Suzanne Rosenthal, William D. and Shelby Modell, and Henry D. Janowitz, M.D.
Beyond research, the Foundation is collaborating with healthcare providers to improve IBD quality of care, as well as educating, supporting, and empowering patients and their caregivers through patient-centric education and advocacy programs.

United Way of Greater Houston engages caring people to improve lives and build a stronger community. At the heart of our work is ensuring the safety net by providing life-saving services to meet our neighbors' most basic needs, like food and shelter.
We are here to support families and individuals when they are going through crises, like job loss, domestic violence and natural disasters.
And, we create a pathway to self-sufficiency and success for our neighbors and our community. We provide the tools, resources and education for families to achieve financial stability and independence, for children to succeed in school and in life and for veterans to rebuild their lives after returning from service.
Every day of the year, 24-hours a day, we are the voice of help and hope for those who call our 2-1-1 Texas/United Way HELPLINE.
And, we bring stakeholders and our community together to address the most pressing needs in our area, improving the quality of life for everyone in our region. We do it all strategically, transparently and with a focus on results.
Churches are looking for ways to reach out to their communities. Schools are looking for community partners. We build relationships with church networks and school districts to help make these connections happen!
In the past 2 years, we have helped connect 45 schools with church partners and have helped 10 churches expand their existing partnerships. These churches are providing mentors, supporting and encouraging teachers, and helping provide resources for schools that would otherwise come out of the teachers' own funds. Just last week, we heard from a pastor whose new church-school partnership helped prevent a shooting and a suicide at their partner school - wow!
We are currently working primarily with 6 school districts (Houston, Spring Branch, Klein, Humble, Fort Bend, Lamar Consolidated), but have a model that churches and districts across Greater Houston are replicating. Brazosport ISD just started Loving Brazosport after coming to our workshops earlier this year!
