The Salvation Army of Greater Houston is currently celebrating 125 years of serving our community. The Salvation Army has 17 locations and serves Fort Bend, Harris and Montgomery County. The Salvation Army counts with 7 Corps (churches), 7 family stores, 6 community centers, 5 Boys & Girls Clubs, 4 homeless shelters, 3 rehabilitation centers, 3 senior citizen day centers, as well as 2 senior citizen affordable housing facilities, 2 social services offices and an Upward Bound program at Sharpstown High School. In 2013, The Salvation Army of Greater Houston assisted over 20,000 individuals for Christmas.
