“We’re seeing things happen in our city, that have traditionally never happened. We’ve had pop-up restaurants…pop-up retail events; we’ve had music festivals begin because we started a dialogue of engagement. So, we are proud at the level of involvement…” -Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, City of Evansville.
City-wide feedback and engagement has also lent itself to the continuing success of three other major projects around the city, including a new Double Tree Hotel (which will host the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns convention in 2017), an expansion to the Tropicana Casino, and a new partnership with Indiana University, University of Evansville and University of Southern Indiana. Mayor Lloyd Winnecke elaborates on all the new projects with fervor and excitement.
This interview takes place inside The Kennedy Room at French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana during the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns annual convention. This interview is also available on XFINITY On Demand.
