The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois serves as a catalyst for giving in order to attract, preserve, and grow an endowment for the people of Northern Illinois. Established in 1953, the Foundation is a steward for over $80 million dollars of endowment for the benefit of the people Boone, Ogle, Stephenson, and Winnebago Counties in Northern Illinois. The endowment generates over $3 million dollars per year for grants and scholarships in the region.
